SSHForwarding: Secure Port Forwarding for Symbian over SSH2
Welcome to secure email on Symbian without the hassles of setting up IPSec on your firewall machine. If you already use SSH2 then you will feel right at home with SSHForwarding.
| SSHForwarding is an application for Symbian mobile devices (s60v3) which can make a connection to a remote ssh server and forward ports from the remote machine to the mobile device. This makes it possible to get and send email over a SSH encrypted link from a mobile phone based email client. Using SSHForwarding you avoid the need to setup an IPSec configuration to read and send email. Just run SSHForwarding and direct the email client to localhost for IMAP and SMTP and enjoy secure mobile email! sshforwarding supports arbitrary forward and reverse port forwarding. If you have a secure port forwarding need for your Symbian s60v3 device then sshforwarding is here to help! By default ports 80 (http), 143 (imap), 993 (imaps), 25 (smtp) and 465 (smtps) are forwarded from the remote host to a localhost port on your mobile phone. Port 80 on the remote host is mapped to port 81 on localhost incase you are already running a web server on your mobile device. SSHForwarding supports passphrase protected identity file authentication. The initial version is limited to a single identity file and port selection is fixed. Part of the code in SSHForwarding is based on the source to OpenSSH. There are some limitations to the list of ciphers offered in SSHForwarding but a 3des-cbc encrypted link can be easily made with openssh server version 4.5p1. Proceed to DOWNLOAD | |
